Buick Encore: Starting and Operating / Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
When the ignition is turned from on to off,
the following features (if equipped) will
continue to function for up to 10 minutes,
or until the driver door is opened. These
features will also work when the ignition is
in RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY:
- Infotainment System
- Power Windows (during RAP this
functionality will be lost when any door
is opened)
- Sunroof (during RAP this functionality will
be lost when any door is opened)
- Auxiliary Power Outlet
- Audio System
- OnStar System
Vehicles may have an engine heater. The
engine heater can help in cold weather
conditions at or below −18 °C (0 °F) for easier
starting and better fuel economy during
engine warm-up...
Hold the brake pedal down and set the
parking brake. See Parking Brake.
Move the shift lever into P (Park) by
pressing the button on the shift lever
and pushing the lever all the way
toward the front of the vehicle...
Other information:
Tires should be rotated every 12 000 km
(7,500 mi). See Maintenance Schedule.
Tires are rotated to achieve a more
uniform wear for all tires. The first
rotation is the most important.
Anytime unusual wear is noticed, rotate
the tires as soon as possible, check for
proper tire inflation pressure, and check
for damaged tires or wheels...
Warning
A child could be seriously injured or killed
in a crash if the child restraint is not
properly attached to the vehicle using
either the LATCH anchors or the vehicle
seat belt. Follow the instructions that
came with the child restraint and the
instructions in this manual...

All seating positions in the vehicle have a
lap-shoulder belt.
The following instructions explain how to
wear a lap-shoulder belt properly.
Adjust the seat, if the seat is adjustable,
so you can sit up straight. To see how,
see “Seats” in the Index.

Pick up the latch plate and pull the belt
across you. Do not let it get twisted.
